When you apply for a job at DIIS

You can find out how the recruitment process from application to interview works at DIIS here.

How to apply for a job

When applying for a position at DIIS, you must always upload your CV, application and relevant educational certificates via our online recruitment system. We do not accept applications by e-mail or post.

If the job advertisement states that additional documents are required, it is important that you upload all the requested documents, otherwise you risk receiving an administrative rejection without being considered for the position.

DIIS is a diverse workplace and we therefore encourage all qualified applicants to apply for positions regardless of their personal background.

Selection of candidates

After the deadline for applications has passed, DIIS HR reviews the applications received to ensure that they fulfil the requirements for the position applied for. If not, your application will be rejected automatically and you will receive an administrative rejection.

If there are a large number of applicants for a position, DIIS HR will select the best qualified applications and forward them for assessment by the hiring committee.

The hiring committee will then typically select between three and five candidates who will be invited for interview. For thesis positions, internships and student positions, a maximum of three candidates will usually be invited for interview.

Specifically for researchers: Pre-interview assessment

As a general rule, DIIS uses shortlisting in the recruitment process for researchers (Senior Researcher, Analyst, Researcher, Postdoc & Research Assistant). The procedure for shortlisting and assessment is as follows:

  • Applications that meet the requirements for the position applied for are forwarded to the shortlisting committee, which selects the applications to be sent for assessment.

  • Applicants will then be notified whether their application has been passed on for assessment or rejected without assessment.

  • The assessment committee is sent the publications and appendices that applicants have been asked to submit in the job advertisement. The assessment committee then assesses the applications and the submitted publications in relation to the job advertisement and DIIS' standards document.

  • The assessment committee prepares a written and confidential assessment, which is used to select the candidates who are invited for interview.

  • The selected applicants are invited for interview. The remaining applicants are notified that they will not be invited for interview. All the candidates assessed are sent a copy of their assessment. You will receive a copy of your assessment whether or not you are invited for interview.

Job interview

We often only hold one round of interviews, but in some cases we may choose to hold multiple rounds - personality tests may also be used in special cases.

If you are invited for interview, based on your application we will have decided that you generally meet the professional requirements of the position. We will of course ask about your relevant skills and experience and you will have the opportunity to tell us why you are the right person for the position. But for us, it’s just as important that you as a person fit in at DIIS as a workplace. Consequently, we will focus on your interaction with colleagues and the conditions you need to perform and thrive at work on a daily basis.

After the interview

Once you have been interviewed, you will be contacted by phone. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified as soon as possible.

Start

When you start at DIIS, you will be assigned a contact person from your new unit who will help you settle in and show you round the building – a ‘tutor’. You will also receive an induction programme and a thorough introduction to the organisation.

We look forward to welcoming you at DIIS!
