Migration and border management
Efforts to manage migration from the global South are undergoing transformation. Striking a balance between the ideal of open borders and the fight against ‘illegal immigration’ on the one hand, and living up to legal and humanitarian obligations on the other, are central dilemmas of migration and border management.
