Europe's next "Ostpolitik"

Commentary by Fabrizio Tassinari in the Washington Post's "PostGlobal"

In this commentary, published in the Washington Post “PostGlobal”, DIIS Senior Researcher Fabrizio Tassinari assesses the EU's forthcoming “Eastern Partnership” and possible impact on the partner countries: Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and, prospectively, Belarus. The Partnership, argues Tassinari, makes the right noises, but could benefit from more of the political backing displayed by some EU member states.

The commentary was written in preparation of the author's upcoming visit to Kiev, where he will speak at a conference organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
