Immigration in Europe After the Arab Spring

Fabrizio Tassinari's syndicated column appears in the German daily Die Welt

Senior researcher Fabrizio Tassinari wrote an article on the current immigration debate in Europe in light of the upheaval in the Arab world and subsequent spike in arrivals from North Africa. He argues that the unintended effect of this debate is that the basic logic driving much of the EU economic and political project, one which links stability and security of member states with the pursuit of ever-closer European integration is coming into question.

The column is syndicated by Project Syndicateand has appeared in German in the leading German daily Die Welt, while the English-language version has so far appeared in the main Turkish newspaper Zaman.
