Current research
Trine Villumsen Berling is PI on a research project on the technification of security authority funded by the Carlsberg Foundation from 2020-2024. Empirically, the project focuses on energy infrastructure projects in the Baltic Sea region.
Nord Stream 2
As part of the Carlsberg project Trine Villumsen Berling researches the political process concerning the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which was set to transport natural gas from Russia to Germany.
DIIS TECH
Trine Villumsen Berling is part of the coordination group behind the new research focus on technology at DIIS.
DIIS Baltic Sea Initiative
Trine took over coordination of Baltic Sea research at DIIS in 2023. Close cooperation with the Royal Danish Defence College and the War Studies at University of Southern Denmark forms an integral part of this task.
