Islamizing aid. Transnational Muslim NGOs after 9.11.

Marie Juul Petersen has published the article 'Islamizing Aid. Transnational Muslim NGOs After 9.11.' in the US journal Voluntas. International Journal of Voluntary and Non-profit Organizations. Based on qualitative case studies of the British NGO Islamic Relief and the Saudi Arabian NGO International Islamic Relief Organization, the article analyzes the ways in which Muslim NGOs Islamize aid and the kinds of Islam they construct in this process, discussing how this relates to their position in the contemporary aid field.
